Hooker’s Fairybell

Hooker’s Fairbell (Disporum hookeri or Prosartes hookeri) is a woodland perennial that dies back each winter and belongs to the Liliaceae family. It is a shade plant that likes moist humus soil. It has lance-shaped leaves that clasp around the stem. It flowers in March to May usually with two flowers at the end of the stem on the underside. The flowers will later turn into two orange to red berries. A very nice addition to a shade garden.
