Puget Sound Gumweed

Puget Sound or Entire-leaved Gumweed (Grindelia integrifolia) is a herbaceous perennial with a taproot. It is a shoreline plant growing on beaches, rocky shores, and salt marshes. This may not be a plant for most gardens, but is one of our native plants here on the west coast of British Columbia. It gets its name from the sticky resin it produces. It blooms from around June to September and is a good plant for pollinators.
